Something has come up with Donny V today, so it will be just me today. Don will return with his regular Tech Talk report on Friday.
It’s all good though, cause the markets got absolutely hammered and I think we’re all hurting a little right now. Of the 672 stocks analyzed on the S&P 500 and TSE, 47 advanced, 622 declined, and the remaining 3 will return with their regular activity tomorrow.
Trading volumes went up a whopping 20% over previous day, so the downturn in the market definitely was no fluke. People were actually selling. Over 47% of stocks broke below previous trend.
Today’s report highlights all of the stocks that made a Bullish Centerline Crossover on this gloomy day.

Jon,
AT&T was higlighted on OCT 22 in which the best return was for the period AUG 28 to DEC 25 with total return of 539.47% over 20 years and 90 % success rate.
Today, you have different results.
I will appreciate if you could provide your comments. Thanks

Hi HM,
That is correct. The analysis done on Oct 22nd was a 20-year analysis, which would probably dictate results with greater reliability than a 10-year, hence the reason for the difference. You can spot similarities between the two, with Buy dates around the end of August and Sell dates around the mid to late December. The technical signals will provide better indication of the proper entry and exit points as the dates near.
I am also doing weekly-interval tests, just for ease of analysis and to try to avoid any one-day spikes. This could also reveal alternate dates, that shouldn’t be off by more than a couple of days, or so, assuming the same time range is tested. So essentially rather than testing 365 days times 365 days times 10 to 20 years, I will narrow it to testing one day from each week (unless greater detail is required) leading to fewer required calculations. It has been tested, however, that the dates are similar using a daily interval compared to a weekly interval, as the period of seasonal strength/weakness would not be limited to just one day.

Hi Phil,
Are you by chance viewing this via a mobile device? The tables presented in the By The Numbers report are unfortunately only fully viewable on non-mobile devices. I am trying to work out a solution, however. We are currently using a alternate platform to distribute the info via mobile devices. It works great for the Tech Talk and Equities in the News reports, but is limited when it come to the tables presented in By The Numbers. I am working through it and hopefully will come up with a solution sooner than later.
Thanks,
Jon
