    Tower of Power
    k. d. lang, Adam Cohen, and the bits with Leonard Cohen were great.
    The rest, not so much.

  2. Vik Says:

For those in SU, TECK, oil :

    How do you spell Parabolic?

  5. Sandra Says:

Is your problem with with TD sorted. Today I have problem with my orders 🙁

  6. Ana Says:

    #5. Sandra,

My WebBroker is not working today either.

I am going to get a cup of coffee.

  7. wsto Says:

Both td webbroker and td advanced dashboard app are down this morning.

  8. roy Says:

Yes Im really frustrated with TD as well. They ask you to call for assistance. Try getting through. What if we wanted to buy or sell a stock in a hurry? awful simply awful.

  9. Sandra Says:

Ana, wsto: TDw so frustrating. They are pretty good at shutting you up with waiving fee afterwards.

Any news on FM.TO. Spiked up and then pulled a little.

  10. roy Says:

Bernie thanks for the response last night.

  11. Mick/NV Says:

I think the issue might be the server one tries to access when they sign in, I am not having an issue.

  12. Muntazir Says:

No issues checking balances but can not view holdings = Its not functioning as it supposed to be

  13. Mavis Says:

Ana, thanks so much for mentioning Leonard Cohen, I’d have missed it if you hadn’t.

I loved it, especially Sting, Bettye LaVette and the orchestra. It was a fine tribute.

  14. Mick/NV Says:

Even though I am already overweight in, decided to try and buy more this morning as it dropped below $45, also looking to add to my holdings as it drops towards $13.

I am using Advanced Dashboard for my orders, so am not having the issues others are mentioning here, checking holdings does work.

  15. Sandra Says:

TDW phones …no one is answering even to take orders. Does not even ring !

  16. roy Says:

Hey Mick/NV – AQN is getting oversold.

  17. Mick/NV Says:

Yes, am watching it closely, I have an order in for so will wait to see if it gets filled first. hit a new all time high this morning, looks like it was trying to break thru the R1 pivot point resistance but couldn’t do so, might take another run at it before the end of the day. Have held this stock for awhile, would like to add more but not at the current level. Stock was up 38% last year, hope the same happens this year but would also like to see it drop to around the $57 as I think that would be a good entry point for those looking to buy and for me to add more. Yields around 2.5% with a beta of .4, dividend not increasing though yet it is safe in my opinion, that is what counts.

  18. Sandra Says:

you are lucky one. I still cannot put orders but dashboard is working.

Watching FTS for entry point to. I could be wrong but appears will find support around 43.75.

  19. Mick/NV Says:

I thought if you right click on a stock symbol you are watching while in dashboard, you should be able to then click on the ‘buy’ and the buy screen will pop up to place your order.
As to, hard to know where the bottom will be, that might be apparent a month from now, regardless patience is a virtue, you may get the price you are looking for.

  20. roy Says:

Hello Mick/NV – Thanks to you WSP has done me well.

  21. Ron/BC Says:

I posted a comment to you on yesterday’s board, last post.

  22. Ron/BC Says:

Pearaballick, just like Pearanoia, or Skitsafrennick, or Sofistokaadid.

  23. Ana Says:

    #22. Ron/BC

    😀 😀 😀

I will have to use that spelling from now on!

I think we are pearaballick and should have a temporary pull back!

Or maybe I just have a bit of pearanoia!

  24. Ana Says:

    #13. Mavis,

Glad you enjoyed Tower Of Power. Of course there is no replacing the real Leonard Cohen. Here is a link with some of his songs, I love this link!

    Starts with The Anthem!

Of course, they all have a very serious, melancholy aspect to them. Enjoy!

    Re: #21 & #32 (from last night)
Sorry, I’m late to Tech Talk today. I just checked your chart from last night. I have no trouble viewing your excellent charts and appreciate your input. The only trouble I have is with resetting any of your saved settings. That’s my bad because I’m too cheap to subscribe to get that capability. There is no way I can overlay the 10EMA to the 20,50,1 MACD via my free membership.

Anyway, I do like what you have come with and would appreciate seeing it applied to XMC.TO and XMH.TO. I’ve decided to stick with $CAD ETFs with this strategy. I hope LonyJ, Roy and others interested in this strategy see the benefits in it and appreciate your kindly contributions to our TA education.

  26. Bernie Says:

Dang, missed that CBC program last night. Do you know if its to be replayed or know the Title of it so I can run a search through my PVR?

I believe your reply in #24 was meant for LonyJ, not Mavis.

  27. Mavis Says:

Ana, thanks for the link, it’s amazing

    For those who missed it,–a-memorial-tribute-to-leonard-cohen/38e815a-00d99b3c4e3

  28. Larry/ON Says:

High Trade Volumes – BMO has also put out a message on its’ Investorline website. I would say that this is a real sign of increased market mania by retail investors that is probably taking place North America wide that should help to push stocks higher. I would not expect any big weakness in January. Any minor drop will bring in a rush of buyers.

  29. Ron/BC Says:

For those Brookfield fans has pulled back to the bottom of its $4 channel at $27.

  30. Bernie Says:

    Re: #27 Thanks!

  31. Kam Says:

    Hi Ana,

Maybe try going to IB and open account there. TFSA, RRSP,Trading accounts are all Lot cheaper to trade and once you are approved can also short any stock without any approval with just click of a button. Can just exchange your CAD to USD in a second with almost no extra cost than market and trade US market. Cost $1 to buy sell 200 shares of US companies.

I know lots of people complain here every month, sounds like, against TD but do nothing. I don’t get anything promoting them( they might give some perk, let me check) but do something folks. You will save lot more in trading costs.

Look like lots of hippy Lettuce stocks have taken over cryptos lately. I read about some stock called BUDZ on OTC who have 3 employees and no revenue( don’t know if this is right though) have market cap over 1 Bill. If someone here know how to list a stock on OTC then lets go,lol.

  32. Kal Says:

    Whats IB?

  33. tony Says:

    IB is for Interactive broker

  34. tony Says:

Budz isn’t that bad with a P/E of -116 Weed as a P/E of -215 and the best one is ACB with a P/E of -1300

we could probably make more just selling the damn stuff but hey if we could do both invest and sell it even better. 🙂

  35. tony Says:

btw any talking head on bnn recommended a pot stock

  36. Ron/BC Says:

Here is the with some techncials and notes on it. I’ve used the 1280 size rather than the 1024 size as you mentioned you are seeing it much smaller on your computer. As far as the 10ema it is not overlaid actually like one would do normally. If you look at the chart’s technical selection below you’ll see to the far right of MACD OVERLAY where I select Exponential moving average and then to the right of that Parameters where I select 10. I guess you can’t change the settings. Also when you put on a Modified MACD you need to put in a zero line across zero after. So one does need to have access to change anything. I’ve put in what’s important along with notes etc so you can think about it and try it with other markets if you wish. They should work similar unless some markets have extreme volatility or no volatility. Keep in mind historically markets consolidate 70% of the time and only trend 30% of the time. Never exactly like that but that is what I’ve read many times and is the general trend of markets. So moving averages can track sideways and drive you crazy much of the time. Notice I don’t tend to put them on my charts. Lack of patience I supose. But as long as the Modified MACD is above the zero line this is telling you the 20 day average price is above the 50 day average price which means that market is healthy overall even if tracking sideways. And those to moving averages are used by most professional traders along with the 200 day moving average too. So if you use a 50,200,1 MACD you will get fewer signals but will keep you with the trend much easier and clearer to read. Let me know what you think of this. tracks the MDY much better than Here is the chart for that with MDY and overlaid.

  37. Bernie Says:

Everything you’ve set in your charts is clearly visible to me and makes perfect sense. Thanks, I’m really liking your modifications! I’m saving these charts and will definitely be using them for entry/exit levels. Unfortunately I don’t have the ability to add the 10EMA if I were to do the chart myself because the bottom indicator section only allows for one set of parameters in addition to position (above, behind price, above). I don’t see the “MACD OVERLAY” you see so it would be impossible to add the 10EMA to the 20,50,1 MACD. Also I don’t have the ability to add a zero line or to change any of your settings without everything becoming too small to read properly. I’ve looked into buying the basic membership but I just don’t do enough trading to make it cost effective for me.
