I am just catching up on previous posts and saw that you had a hip replacement! How has that worked out for you? Less pain when you are walking? That is such a huge operation, I admire anyone able to have that done to improve their health.

I have more time on my hands now, as I have broken my patella (knee cap) falling on concrete from ice on my driveway.

I have moved to Saskatchewan so now I complain about the Sask Party and the Conservatives, here instead of Alberta! 😀

  5. Ron/BC Says:

    Ana

I had my left hip replaced in mid October with the traditional hip they use. But 17 years ago I had my right hip replaced with what they call “Hip Resurfacing”. Otherwise known in Britain where they created it using metal and just covering the old hip bone with a metal cap. It worked good and I was back to work running up and down ladders etc in two months. I still have a sore hip flexer muscle though that will likely never get well. This time while I’m retired it has taken much longer to get back to normal whatever that means. Been 5 months now and still have difficulty picking things up off the floor. Putting on 10 lb didn’t help either. Putting on a pair of socks is the biggest problem but have a tool for that now. So the newer hip technology didn’t make things better. But I don’t limp much anymore. I haven’t started golfing yet so that will help with the flexibly. Can’t shake the extra 10lb or so and that doesn’t help. Maybe a tummy tuck would do the trick. Getting older is likely the biggest problem but I never admit to that. Not sure what they do for a broken knee cap. That would be a tough one to deal with I would think. So you are now in my home province of Saskatchewan. I used to live in a R.C.M.P. barracks there decades ago as my dad was a Mountie there. I plan on going back for a visit.

I’d like to have a Conservative Government in Ottawa and B.C.rather than these left wing wackos that don’t know what to do with money. Well I hope you get over your knee problem and enjoy Saskatchewan.

Good to hear from you, Ron/BC. Maybe physiotherapy would help the hip flexor muscle?

A broken patella requires a brace from the ankle to the top of the thigh, no weight on that leg and no bending of the knee. So, I have crutches. My lower back is really sore, so I try not to walk too much.

Saskatchewan is not for the faint of heart. There is so much snow and there is a storm moving through the province. Most major roads are ice with snow blowing across the roads and no visibility. So, enjoy your weather!

The Conservatives have to get a leader that is not a “wack job” for Ottawa. Where do they find these weirdos?
Canada is doing just fine with the Federal Liberal Leadership!

  8. Ron/BC Says:

    NTR
    Ana
I didn’t realize how debilitating a broken knee cap was. I’d rather have hip surgery, lol. I never drove when in Sask. as I was 12 when I left for B.C. We get snow here now and again and all I need to get around easily is All Wheel Drive and All Weather tires. So that’s what I bought. Lots of golfers out on the fairways now but just weeks ago they were covered in snow. I went to the range yesterday and practiced with my clubs for the first time. I’ll have to get out there and get serious about it soon. I don’t know why people live in cold snowy climates. I don’t see the point of living like that. Been too long to remember I guess. You can even ski here as just up the Island there is Mt.Washington to ski. I don’t ski but it’s there for that.

As far as Political Parties go all I know is things are much better under a right wing government than a left wing one. Most things just make sense when they are in power. Preston Manning was a good one along with Stephen Harper. Perhaps we should have to take a test to vote, lol.
